Everglades is a 55+ site community located in the small town of Clewiston, Florida. Clewiston is famous for being “America’s Sweetest Town”, so there is no question that Everglades sure is a sweet spot! This community has paved roads, curbside trash and is pet friendly. Clewiston is situated in Hendry County, 80 miles northwest of Fort Lauderdale on the Atlantic coast.
Lake Okeechobee is the largest nearby attraction. Having more than 730 square miles, it is the second largest freshwater lake in the United States. Other surrounding attractions include, visiting Staghorn Kitchen, Sweetest Town Park, Scotty’s Tiki Bar or playing at Clewiston Golf Course.
In addition, Clewiston is host to the U. S. Sugar Corporation, the nation’s largest producer of raw and refine cane sugar and one of the nation’s premier producers of oranges and orange juice products.
